Turing Day

Turing's Neural Networks on the BioWall

Films:

Turing neural network (global view) - [1.5MB]

Turing neural network (adding elements) - [2.9MB]

The images and the films above show a special hardware implementation of B-type Turing neural network on a "reconfigurable artificial tissue" called BioWall. The machine is build up by 3200 Xilinx FPGAs, each associated with a touch screen and an 8x8 dot two-color LED display. The user can interactively build B-type Turing networks, add connections and neurons, open and close synapses, and modify neuron inputs. The main goal of this projet was to present Turing's connectionist models to a non-scientific public.
